I wish I could give Anelakai adventures 10 stars. What an amazing experience! They were so accommodating and encouraging with our 5 year old daughter and 9 year old son, who were nervous at first, and at times during, but on the ride home were raving about what they had just seen. My wife and I felt the same way - still processing the beauty of the mantas.

It's a truly breathtaking experience under the stars. And further confirmation to me that human powered eco-friendly adventuring helps to forge an even stronger connection to the natural world and to place. The boat was beautiful (and a reminder that the first thing made by humans to touch the islands of Hawai'i was the bottom of a canoe). And it paddled fast!

Even better, this way of experiencing the mantas is clearly much more accessible than the larger motored tours, as the mantas are able to come right up to the canoes since they are non-motorized. If you can get in the water, absolutely do it! But even if you're unable to for whatever reason, it still would be an incredible trip that would get you up close to the mantas.

Holly was a fantastic guide, gave interesting details on the mantas, and was kind and encouraging throughout the entire experience.

Can't recommend Anelakai adventures enough!
